Porsche Cayenne S hybrid

The Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid

23 mpg combined

- A hybrid for the Porsche fan trying to clean up their image

Updated March 29, 2012

What can you say? You love Porsche. Does that mean you can't also love the environment?

Maybe you take the subway to work Monday through Friday, but on the weekend you drive, and when you drive, you drive a Porsche. Whatever. You have your reasons for being interested in a hybrid.

And what a hybrid the Porsche Cayenne S hybrid is.

With 380 horsepower the Porsche Cayenne S hybrid goes from 0 - 60 in 6.1 seconds, offers a top speed of 150 mph, and still achieves a combined 23 mpg.

Not too bad for an SUV, especially one offering this kind of power and performance.

Just as impressive, the Cayenne S Hybrid features a permanent all-wheel drive system with self-locking centre differential. Thus, if one of the wheels is losing grip, the self-locking centre differential transmits torque to the axle offering the highest level of traction, while also offering the capability to enhance steering precision and driving dynamics, especially when cornering.

Of course, what else would you expect from Porsche?

Like most other hybrids, the Cayenne S hybrid uses technologies, such as start/stop, to increase city fuel economy. Moreover, the direct injection system and the Tiptronic S 8-speed transmission help increase fuel economy and ensure the proper level of efficiency and performance in any driving condition.
